Prof. Yoon Kyung-chul's Research Team at Jeonnam National University Hospital Receives Korean Ophthalmological Society Academic Award
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jin-Hyung Park] Professor Kyung-Chul Yoon's research team from the Department of Ophthalmology at Chonnam National University Hospital recently received an academic award at the 127th Annual Meeting of the Korean Ophthalmological Society held at BEXCO in Busan.
Professor Yoon's team presented on the topic "Efficacy and Efficiency of Biocompatible pH-Responsive Cyclosporine A Delivery Contact Lenses" at this conference.
This study, conducted jointly with Professors Ho-Joong Kim and Jun-Pil Ji from Chosun University, demonstrated the development of contact lenses that regulate drug release according to pH changes, proving their applicability in treating inflammatory eye diseases such as dry eye syndrome.

Professor Yoon, Director of Planning and Coordination at Chonnam National University Hospital, has published over 370 domestic and international academic papers and 14 academic books. He has received numerous academic awards including the Topcon Academic Award, Seobong Medical Award, Elegant Academic Research Award three times, Korean Ophthalmological Society Academic Award seven times, Asia-Pacific Ophthalmology Society Best Paper Award and Merit Award twice, and Asia Dry Eye Society Best Paper Award twice.
