Gwangju Urban Railway Expands Steps in Human Rights Management
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation is attracting attention by revitalizing human rights management to innovate an organizational culture of respect for human rights and mutual consideration.
The corporation recently conducted a contest for all employees to create a ‘Human Rights Management Slogan’ and officially adopted “Respect for human rights first, a culture of consideration returned” as the slogan, announcing on the 12th that it is working to implement an organizational culture centered on respect and consideration.
Along with this, it is launching the ‘GRTC-type Human Rights Opinion Collection’ program to check employees’ sensitivity to human rights and prevent conflicts in advance.
This program collects actual cases or opinions experienced in the workplace from all employees, invites experts to evaluate them from various perspectives, and is a program where members improve together.
Additionally, each department identifies tasks to improve organizational culture, practices and shares them, and department heads lead by example by broadcasting their commitment to a proper human rights culture through the company broadcasting system, thereby carrying out substantial cultural innovation.
Prior to this, the corporation has taken the lead in strengthening human rights awareness through communication and empathy by declaring ‘GRTC Human Rights Respect Day,’ operating the Human Rights Management Committee, providing sensitivity enhancement training for managers, and conducting public human rights respect campaigns.
