New COVID-19 Cases in Shanghai Drop to Around 23,000... Some Areas Still Under Lockdown
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The daily number of new COVID-19 infections in Shanghai, China, slightly decreased after a week, recording in the 23,000 range.
According to the National Health Commission of China on the 12th, the number of new infections in Shanghai the previous day was 23,342 (including 22,348 asymptomatic cases), down by 2,745 from the day before (October 10, 26,087 cases).

However, the number of confirmed cases on the 11th decreased compared to the previous day but remains significantly higher than two weeks ago (around 5,000 cases)."
Li Qiang, the Party Secretary of Shanghai, stated on the 11th via official social media (SNS) that Shanghai will maintain strict lockdown principles to control the outbreak.

In Jilin Province, the number of infections decreased from the 900s on the 10th to the 700s on the 11th, and the region declared achievement of zero COVID.
