Dwelling, a Smart Shelter Specialist Company, Successfully Secures 16.5 Billion KRW Investment
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Dwelling Co., Ltd., a domestic smart shelter specialist company (CEO Jeon Jeonghwan), announced on the 12th that it has successfully completed Series 1 investment funding. The investment amount is approximately 16.5 billion KRW, reportedly from NH Investment & Securities, DB Investment Association, and others.
Dwelling not only designs and constructs smart shelters but also independently developed the ‘Smart Stop Location Auto-Designation’ system, which was launched in Seoul. In addition, applying Dwelling’s proprietary know-how, it has built smart shelters and maintains an integrated control system at the control center within Seoul City Hall as part of Seoul City’s management consignment project.
Dwelling is a company with indoor and outdoor fine dust and air quality management solutions. It has a diverse business portfolio including smart bus stops, air quality measuring devices, and air purification vehicles. In particular, eco-friendly bus stops have been opened at Sungnyemun, Hongdae Ipgu, Hapjeong Station, and others, gaining attention for ESG management. These stops feature AI-controlled heating and cooling functions and bus boarding and alighting guidance. They are also known to reduce power consumption by producing eco-friendly energy through solar panels.
Recently, Dwelling has recorded stable revenue growth through its smart bus station business. Considering the increasing national budget for fine dust policy projects, it is expected that operating profit will be higher than the current level.
Dwelling’s revenue increase was significantly influenced by the diversification of its business portfolio, including smart intelligent bus shelters, software platforms, air quality measuring devices, bidirectional electrostatic precipitators, and air purification vehicles. The target sites for its main business, smart shelters, are estimated to be about 600 locations within Seoul, with a market size of approximately 280 billion KRW.
Regarding this, Dwelling stated, “Last year, we installed smart intelligent bus shelters at Hongdae Ipgu Station, Hapjeong Station, Sungnyemun, and three other locations. In December last year, we signed a contract with Gangdong District, and in January this year, with Gangnam District.”
Meanwhile, established in 2015, Dwelling has responded to the national social issue and public interest in fine dust by developing and commercializing a Hybrid air purification sterilizer combining air sterilizers and air purifiers, smart intelligent bus stops, bidirectional electrostatic precipitators installable in urban railway ventilation shafts, and smart air purification vehicles. Currently, it holds a total of 231 intellectual property rights, including registered patents and patent applications, and aims to become number one in the Air-Care field through future research and development (R&D).
