View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] GS Retail announced on the 12th that it will hold its first recruitment briefing session of the year on the metaverse platform 'Gather Town' starting from the 13th. The application process for the 2022 first half university graduate new employee recruitment will also begin on the same day.
This is the first time GS Retail is holding a recruitment briefing session through the metaverse. The briefing session, conducted with the purpose of creating success together with applicants, will accept pre-registration from the 13th to the 17th. Applicants selected through a lottery will be able to participate in the live recruitment briefing sessions held from the 20th to the 22nd.
Applicants participating in this LIVE recruitment briefing session can obtain various information such as checking recruitment details, understanding GS Retail’s value system, attending the briefing session, and Q&A according to the four sections within the map, and can also resolve recruitment-related questions in real time.
GS Retail introduced its own test called the GSTI assessment for the first time, allowing applicants to experience it starting from this briefing session. GSTI can be described as a workplace version of MBTI created by GS Retail, designed to help applicants who wish to work at GS Retail to understand “What type of work style am I?” in advance.
This LIVE recruitment briefing session was designed as a real-time interactive communication opportunity between MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) applicants and the company. Recruitment officers and senior employees plan to communicate directly.
They will respond directly to questions posted in the metaverse during anonymous Q&A, resume writing consulting, and job-related counseling sessions. They also plan to provide in-depth counseling by sharing their own experiences. The LIVE recruitment briefing sessions, which allow real-time consultations, will be held three times in total until the 22nd.
Additionally, GS Retail plans to distribute links to the recruitment briefing session with free access from the 25th to the 27th for applicants who could not participate in this LIVE session.
Baek Seung-jong, Manager of GS Retail’s HR Operations Team, said, “This recruitment briefing session, held alongside the new employee recruitment, is the first to be conducted in the metaverse, and we expect active two-way communication between MZ generation applicants and the company.” He added, “The newly introduced GSTI is a great opportunity for applicants to directly check what strengths they have according to the newly established GS Retail value system after integration.”

Meanwhile, the application period for GS Retail’s 2022 first half university graduate new employee recruitment is from the 13th to the 27th. After AI competency testing, first and second interviews, and a physical examination, the final successful candidates will be announced within the first half of the year. The recruitment division is the GS25 convenience store business unit.
