[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] A man in his 20s who abused stray cats, including breaking their legs, causing their deaths, has been referred to the prosecution.
The Hwaseong Dongtan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that they have booked a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, without detention and sent him to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on charges of abusing and killing seven stray cats (violation of the Animal Protection Act).
Mr. A is accused of abusing and killing stray cats by breaking their legs and subjecting them to water torture at his residence in Hwaseong City and the convenience store warehouse where he works part-time.
He reportedly gave incoherent statements regarding his motive for the crimes.
