[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Tongyeong City, Gyeongnam Province, signed an agreement on the 11th with two organizations, the Gyeongnam Port Management Office and the Korea Shipping Association Gyeongnam Branch, regarding the ‘Operation of Nursing Rooms at Tongyeong Port Coastal Passenger Terminal for Creating a Childbirth and Childcare-Friendly Environment.’
The city promoted the agreement to establish necessary regulations for the efficient management and operation of the nursing rooms at Tongyeong Port Coastal Passenger Terminal.
The agreement involved three related organizations: the Gyeongsangnam-do Port Management Office, the Korea Shipping Association Gyeongnam Branch, and the Tongyeong City Public Health Center.
In preparation for the nursing room, which was suspended due to the passenger terminal remodeling construction, to resume operation in early May, the city plans to support the relocation of the space by providing diaper changing tables, sofas, partitions, and other necessary items.
The city also plans to promote an unmanned maternal and child health project exhibition within the nursing room space to increase accessibility to the project and improve awareness of low birth rates.
