Macron Scores Around 28% in French Presidential Election... Advances to Runoff with Le Pen
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] In the first round of voting to elect the next president of France, President Emmanuel Macron and far-right candidate Marine Le Pen of the National Rally (RN) are estimated to advance to the runoff as first and second place, respectively.
According to the Guardian and other sources, French polling agencies announced on the afternoon of the 10th (local time) that President Macron, seeking re-election, is expected to receive 28.1-28.6% of the vote, while candidate Le Pen is expected to receive 23.3-24.4%.
In third place, far-left candidate Jean-Luc M?lenchon of La France Insoumise (LFI) is expected to secure around 20% of the vote.
