Jung Kyung-shim's Health Deteriorates After Decision to Cancel Cho Min's Admission... Hospitalized
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Jeong Gyeong-sim, former professor at Dongyang University, who is incarcerated on charges including admission fraud involving her children, has reportedly been transferred to a hospital due to deteriorating health. This appears to be largely influenced by the recent cancellation of her daughter Jo Min's admissions to Pusan National University Medical School and Korea University Department of Environmental Ecology Engineering.
According to the legal community on the 10th, after the decision to cancel Jo's admissions was made, Jeong's health deteriorated, and she was transferred to an external hospital yesterday. After the transfer, Jeong underwent a thorough examination and is currently awaiting the results.
Jeong, spouse of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, was indicted on charges including admission fraud involving her children and violations of the Capital Markets Act related to private equity funds. In January, the Supreme Court confirmed a four-year prison sentence, which she is currently serving.
