[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Honam University announced on the 7th that it has signed an agreement for humanities, social, and cultural exchange with the Goryeoin Village.
This agreement was promoted as part of the Korea Research Foundation's Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences support project (Principal Investigator Yoon Young) with the purpose of developing the humanities and cultural arts of the Goryeoin and immigrant community in Wolgok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and spreading its social value.
The Goryeoin Culture Center ‘Gyeol’ in Wolgok-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, the Goryeoin Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Jeonbuk National University Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute pledged to “exchange and cooperate in humanities, social, and cultural fields for the creation of the Wolgok-dong historical and cultural village.”
Wolgok-dong, which is advancing as a historical and cultural village, houses rare materials related to Korean literature and the anti-Japanese independence movement in the Primorsky region, centered around the Goryeoin Culture Center ‘Gyeol’.
Visitors and researchers interested in the diverse and rare historical records and materials of the Primorsky and Central Asia regions continue to visit and observe.
