The Ministry of SMEs and Startups previously finalized 15 institutions, including the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, as lead institutions for the specialized lab type. Additionally, the foundation will introduce equipment such as 3D printers and scanners, as well as specialized equipment necessary for automobile tuning, and will promote customized capacity-building education segmented into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels based on difficulty. The detailed training content includes special device attachment (Build up), exterior modification (Dress up), and engine driving device performance enhancement (Tune up).
Hong Chun-hee, principal of Gyeonggi-do Technical School, emphasized, "With this selection as the lead institution for the Maker Space, we expect to discover startup companies in the automobile tuning field and create jobs through entrepreneurship. We will take the lead in promoting the foundation's various job projects by generating synergy effects in connection with other job projects within the foundation."
Meanwhile, the Maker Space establishment project is promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to encourage manufacturing startups through professional maker activities such as prototype production and mass production. Specialized labs support maker development and manufacturing startups by possessing specialized equipment and operational personnel based on expertise in specific fields.
