"From Cradle to Commercialization"... Incheon Economic Free Zone Authority Provides Systematic Support for Youth Startups
Operation of Three Programs Including 'Cheongnyeon Startup Branch'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is launching various support projects this year to create youth jobs through fostering startups (new venture companies).
On the 5th, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it will operate three programs to support youth startups in collaboration with Incheon Technopark: ▲ Youth Startup Branch ▲ Startup Yard with Youth ▲ Youth TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup) Incubation.
These programs aim to guide young people through startup education, technical verification consulting, and commercialization support stages, with the ultimate goal of having them selected as participants in TIPS, a technology startup investment program led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
First, the Youth Startup Branch program offers startup entrepreneurship and practical education based on 4th industrial revolution technologies to local youth, providing opportunities for startups to secure excellent talent through networking.
Five companies residing in or supported by Incheon Startup Park will be selected as mentors and matched with university (graduate) students in the Incheon area to conduct technical seminars and training. Activity expenses will be provided to participating youth. The mentor company recruitment deadline is until the 13th of next month, and youth recruitment will take place after the 13th.
Additionally, the Startup Yard with Youth program selects about 12 youth startups recommended by local startup incubation institutions to operate.
These companies will receive benefits such as expert mentoring, product/service analysis, and financial support. The recruitment deadline for the Startup Yard implementing organizations is until the 18th of next month.
The Youth TIPS Incubation program discovers youth startups with excellent products (services) and helps them participate in TIPS and the Public Procurement Service’s Fast Track (incubation promotion for companies in the public purchase sector for public interest purposes).
Three operating companies will be selected to provide acceleration or consulting programs according to the growth stage for 20 youth startups (under 39 years old) established within the last 7 years. The operating company recruitment deadline is until the 21st of next month.
