Gijang-gun Completes 54 of 83 Pledges... Selected as 'Excellent A Grade' in National Basic Local Government Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Gijang-gun received an excellent grade A in the ‘2022 Evaluation of Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure by Local Government Heads in the 7th Local Election’ organized by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
The evaluation was conducted by a manifesto evaluation team composed of experts who assessed the pledge fulfillment of 226 local government heads nationwide over about 100 days for the year 2021. The evaluation covered five areas: ▲pledge fulfillment completion ▲achievement of 2021 goals ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲pledge consistency, and classified results into five grades from SA to D.
Gijang-gun received an excellent grade A with a total score between 85 and 90 by excelling in resident communication, such as operating a pledge fulfillment evaluation team involving residents in the pledge fulfillment and evaluation process according to the mayor’s pledge management guidelines, across all five areas.
The county’s 7th local election pledge projects consist of 7 major fields, 21 unit projects, and 83 detailed projects, including ▲prioritizing residents’ health and safety ▲establishing urban infrastructure focused on resident convenience ▲fostering high value-added industries combining tradition and cutting-edge technology ▲creating a world-class resort city ▲becoming Korea’s top childcare and education hub ▲creating a living environment to improve quality of life ▲securing harmonious community spaces.
The county completed 54 out of the total 83 pledge projects in the 7th local election, achieving a pledge fulfillment rate of 65.1%.
The status of pledge fulfillment is accurately disclosed on the website, and pledge matters are checked through regular pledge fulfillment implementation reporting meetings.
Gijang-gun consecutively received the highest SA grade in the ‘National Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ in 2017-2018, an excellent A grade in 2019, the highest SA grade in 2020, and an excellent A grade in the 2021-2022 evaluation.
