According to the fire authorities on the 3rd, the fire that broke out near the summit of Gaeunsan at around 2:26 PM was completely put out by 3:26 PM, one hour after the fire started.
The fire department responded with 57 personnel and 9 vehicles after receiving a report from residents of nearby apartments stating, "Flames were seen near the summit of Gaeunsan, followed by faint smoke."
It is estimated that about 140㎡ of forest was damaged by the fire. No damage was confirmed at nearby locations such as Korea University campus or apartments close to the fire site.
