Jeonnam Fire Department Begins Special Alert Duty for Fire Prevention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters will begin special alert duty to prepare for fire outbreaks ahead of Cheongmyeong (April 5) and Hansik (April 6).
According to Jeonnam Fire on the 3rd, during the special alert duty periods for Cheongmyeong and Hansik over the past three years (2019?2021), a total of 101 fires occurred, resulting in 2 casualties (1 death, 1 injury) and property damage amounting to approximately 369 million KRW.
This special alert duty will be conducted from 6 p.m. on April 4 to 9 a.m. on April 7. It will mobilize 723 fire trucks and 15,098 personnel including firefighters and volunteer firefighters at major hiking trails and park cemeteries.
Accordingly, the provincial fire headquarters will conduct fire prevention patrols twice daily at major park cemeteries, hiking trails, and forest-adjacent areas within the province, establishing a rapid initial response system through on-site response and situation management led by fire station chiefs to fully prevent large-scale fires such as forest fires.
Through patrols, risk factors for fire outbreaks will be removed in advance, and burning activities around rice paddies and fields will be prevented. Firefighting forces will be deployed forward for two days at 36 key locations including major hiking trails and park cemeteries to establish a swift initial response system.
