Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam Launches Education Development Council Activities in Earnest... "Leading Educational Innovation"

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 31st, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held the 2nd meeting of the Education Development Council at the 4th floor Academy Hall of Jangseong-gun Office.

The Jangseong-gun Education Development Council is an advisory body that discusses and coordinates education-related policies and support projects promoted by the county. It includes Chairman Yoo Dooseok, Jangseong-gun Governor, Vice Chairman Kim Cheolju, Head of Jangseong Education Support Office, county council members, and about 40 parent representatives.

At the 2nd meeting, the members shared the direction of Jangseong-gun's education support for 2022 and the progress on proposals from the 1st meeting.

Jangseong-gun significantly expanded the scholarship fund from 155 million won last year to 250 million won this year.

It also supports free education for high schools and free meals for kindergartens, elementary, and middle schools.

Three old elementary school playgrounds will be transformed into natural grass fields.

Additionally, improvement projects for children's protection zones are being promoted at 24 schools, and the education support budget is planned to increase from 6.2 billion won last year to 7.4 billion won this year.

Thirteen proposals reviewed at the previous 1st council meeting, including ▲improvement of out-of-school environments ▲installation of traffic safety facilities ▲extension of operation of the Jangseong-gun Foreign Language Experience Center, are being vigorously promoted through close cooperation among related departments.

Governor Yoo Dooseok said, “We expect the active participation of parent members to bring fresh changes to the education field,” and added, “With the belief that education determines Jangseong's future 100 years, the county will spare no support.”
