President Moon said, "Recently, the first ex officio retrial and special retrial for the 4.3 detainees were held. This retrial was made possible by the full revision of the 4.3 Special Act," adding, "The prosecutor requested a not guilty verdict for all defendants, and the judge read a special verdict that empathized with the pain of 4.3. It was a moment when wounds healed and the spring of Jeju blossomed."
Listing the progressive government's efforts to resolve the 4.3 special incident, President Moon emphasized, "Above all, the earnest hearts of the Jeju residents were the power that could reveal the truth."
He continued, "The unfinished tasks will be resolved through the inclusion and solidarity of the living," and "I hope efforts will continue in the next administration."
