Kimje Jipyeongseon 2nd General Industrial Complex Development Project Kicks Off
2022 Industrial Complex Designation Plan Passes Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Policy Review
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 1st that the Jipyeongseon 2nd General Industrial Complex Development Project in Gimje City has passed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Industrial Location Policy Review after verifying the project execution capability and location demand.
The Industrial Location Policy Review Committee is a government committee under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport that deliberates on important matters of industrial location policy.
Industrial complex development is only possible after establishing designation plans for industrial complexes by city and province, undergoing the Ministry of Land’s demand verification adjustment meeting, and passing the final Industrial Location Policy Review Committee deliberation.
Jeonbuk Province plans to announce the “2022 Jeollabuk-do Industrial Complex Designation Plan” reflecting the review results, so the industrial complex development project in Gimje City is expected to gain momentum.
The Gimje Jipyeongseon 2nd General Industrial Complex is located in the Sangdong-dong area of Gimje City and will be developed on a scale of 895,000㎡ with an investment of 171.2 billion KRW by 2027.
It is adjacent to Jeonju-Wanju Innovation City and Gimje downtown, making workforce supply easy, and with the geographical advantage of a nearby highway IC and competitive sale prices, 28 companies have submitted letters of intent to move in.
According to a feasibility study by the Local Administration Research Institute, the development of the Gimje Jipyeongseon 2 Industrial Complex is expected to create 3,500 new jobs and generate an annual economic inducement effect of 236 billion KRW.
