Government to Issue 3.5 Trillion Won in Fiscal Bonds in April
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Son Seon-hee] The government announced on the 1st that it plans to issue treasury bills worth a total of 3.5 trillion won (63-day maturity) this month.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the day, the issuance of these treasury bills will be conducted through competitive bidding four times on the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th of this month.
Treasury bills are securities issued in the financial market to cover temporary shortages in the national treasury caused by timing mismatches between revenue and expenditure. They are typically used as a short-term borrowing tool in the first half of the year to support early fiscal spending.
