KOSPI Continues Decline in Afternoon... Individuals Alone Net Buyers
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices continue to decline in the afternoon session.
At 2:12 PM on the 1st, the KOSPI stood at 2,738.96, down 0.68% (18.69 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 2,745.85, down 0.43% (11.80 points) from the previous day, and showed a nearly 1% decline in the early session. Currently, individual investors have net purchased stocks worth 712.4 billion KRW alone. Foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 173.6 billion KRW and 540.3 billion KRW, respectively.
Top market capitalization stocks are on a downward trend. Samsung Electronics (-0.72%), LG Energy Solution (-3.17%), SK Hynix (-1.27%), NAVER (-1.32%), Samsung Biologics (-1.21%), Kakao (-0.94%), Samsung SDI (-1.34%), Hyundai Motor (-1.39%), and LG Chem (-1.69%) are trading at prices lower than the previous day.
At the same time, the index is at 941.88, down 0.38% (2.65 points) from the previous trading day. It is also at 2,742.41, down 0.59% (15.24 points) from the previous day.
The index opened at 940.49, down 0.43% (4.04 points) from the previous day, and the decline is widening. In the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 55.9 billion KRW and 88.4 billion KRW, respectively, while individuals alone purchased stocks worth 157.8 billion KRW.
