Suspension of Funeral Support Payments
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] The government will expand the current private gathering limit from 8 to 10 people starting from the 4th. The operating hours restriction for multi-use facilities such as restaurants will be eased from 11 PM to midnight.
Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum stated in his opening remarks at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 1st, "From next Monday, for two weeks, we plan to ease the operating hours restriction for multi-use facilities to midnight and adjust the private gathering limit to up to 10 people."
Prime Minister Kim added, "If the severe cases and deaths decrease over the next two weeks and the medical system is managed stably, we will boldly reform the remaining social distancing and other quarantine measures."
He also said, "We will improve the funeral expense support system to align with the changed funeral guidelines and current realities," adding, "We intend to stop providing funeral support payments that have been implemented so far. However, costs incurred for infection control during the funeral process will continue to be supported."

He continued, "To fully focus on on-site response, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meetings, which have been held three times a week, will be adjusted to twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays starting next week."
