LG Chem Starts Waste Resource Recycling Project with Siheung City
Agreement on Establishing a Resource Circulation System
R&D and Eco-Friendly Product Launch Planned

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] LG Chem announced on the 1st that it will undertake a waste resource recycling project in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do.
On the 31st of last month, LG Chem signed a "Business Agreement for Establishing a Resource Circulation System through Waste Resource Recycling" together with Siheung-si and Siheung Urban Corporation. The signing ceremony was attended by Noh Guk-rae, Head of LG Chem's Petrochemical Business Division, Im Byung-taek, Mayor of Siheung, and Jeong Dong-seon, President of Siheung Urban Corporation.
These organizations agreed to promote a project to transform waste resources generated in Siheung-si into clean resources.
LG Chem plans to conduct research and development (R&D) for waste resource recycling and building a circular economy by utilizing supercritical pyrolysis plants and others. They plan to recycle waste resources that are currently incinerated or landfilled to launch various eco-friendly products.

Noh Guk-rae, Head of LG Chem's Petrochemical Business Division, said, "We will create mutually beneficial value with local governments by utilizing waste," and added, "We will expand cooperation with local governments to accelerate the establishment of a plastic circular economy."
