[Click eStock] "JYP, Fandom Strengthened During Pandemic... Resuming Performances with Reopening"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Samsung Securities maintained a 'Buy' rating on JYP Ent on the 1st and raised the target price by 14% to 72,000 KRW. This is due to expectations that performance activities will be fully revitalized with the reopening.
Although performances were halted for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TWICE and Stray Kids have further expanded their fandoms. ITZY and NMIXX are also showing good results. This year, TWICE held seven performances in five U.S. cities in February and three performances at Tokyo Dome in April. Riding on their popularity, they plan to hold an encore LA performance in May, with the possibility of additional shows open. Stray Kids will hold 15 performances from April to July in Seoul, the U.S., Japan, and other locations. NIJUU is expected to conduct a tour in the second half of the year, and merchandise and content sales are also anticipated to rise simultaneously.
Not only established artists but also emerging artists are growing together, boasting a solid artist lineup. TWICE, now in their eighth year since debut, is showing greater activity not only domestically but also in global markets such as Japan and the U.S., while the growth of the boy group Stray Kids, in their fourth year since debut, is fierce. Their sixth mini-album released in March topped the Billboard 200, confirming their global popularity. The girl group NMIXX, which debuted in February this year, is expected to quickly establish itself in the market.
