Yeosu City Provides 1 Million Won Support to Small Business Owners Who Have Not Received Quarantine Support Funds
Applications Accepted from April 4 to 29... Support for Over 2,000 Local Small Business Owners
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do will provide a support fund of 1 million KRW to 'small business owners who did not receive the government’s quarantine support fund.'
The city announced on the morning of the 31st that it held the 'Yeosu City Small Business Support Deliberation Committee' and made this decision.
This reflects the voices from the field that small business owners who were excluded from support feel alienated and lost, as the government support fund was limited to industries subject to gathering bans, business hour restrictions, and sales decline.
Accordingly, about 2,000 small business establishments in Yeosu are expected to receive support.
The support target includes small business owners with annual sales of 1 billion KRW or less who did not apply for the government’s quarantine support fund or businesses that fell into blind spots.
However, gambling-related industries, professional occupations such as lawyers, accountants, hospitals, and pharmacies, financial and insurance-related industries, businesses violating gathering bans or business restrictions, non-profit enterprises, organizations, corporations, and unincorporated associations are excluded.
The application period is from April 4 to 29, and applications can be submitted at the township or neighborhood community service centers where the business is located.
Mayor Kwon Oh-bong of Yeosu said, “Local small business owners have suffered for a long time due to COVID-19. Although we wanted to provide more support, due to limited resources after two rounds of disaster relief payments to all citizens, we decided to provide support funds to small business owners who have not received support so far.”
