Koo Han-mo, Executive Director of LG Innotek, Receives Presidential Citation on Commerce and Industry Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] LG Innotek announced on the 30th that Executive Director Hanmo Koo, head of the DS (Display Solution) business division, received the 'Presidential Citation' at the 49th Commerce and Industry Day.
Commerce and Industry Day was established to promote the advancement of domestic commerce and industry and to encourage the enthusiasm of businesspeople. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry annually selects and awards individuals who have contributed to the national economy and industrial development through successful business management in commemoration of Commerce and Industry Day.
Executive Director Koo was selected as this year's recipient in recognition of his contributions to the localization of components and the enhancement of the global competitiveness of the materials and components industry. Since joining LG Innotek in 2007, Executive Director Koo has held positions including head of the TS·LF (Tape Substrate·Lead Frame) process technology group, head of the materials business division, and head of the PS (Package Substrate) business division.
He is regarded as an expert in the display business within substrate materials, leading differentiated product development, securing core technologies, and innovating production technology and processes based on his insight into the tape substrate and photomask businesses.
In particular, Executive Director Koo played a leading role in localizing the tape substrate, which had been 100% imported from Japan, for the first time in Korea. The tape substrate business he led has held the world's number one market share since 2009, securing an absolute advantage. Currently, LG Innotek's tape substrate holds a 45% share of the global market.
