Content IP Industry Policy Roadmap Becomes More Concrete
Launch of the Advisory Committee for Content IP Activation by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will launch the Content Intellectual Property (IP) Activation Advisory Committee on the 30th. This organization is designed to respond to changes in the industrial landscape centered on the rising content IP amid shifts in media and platforms. Cho Hyun-rae, head of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, "Content IP crosses various media and platforms, transforming the related industrial landscape," adding, "We will accelerate the global expansion of K-content through close discussions among industry, academia, and institutions."
The advisory committee is composed of experts from ten fields including animation, comics/webtoons, characters/merchandise, games, broadcasting/video/media, music/entertainment, storytelling, regional content, immersive content, and cultural policy. At its first meeting, the committee plans to diagnose the characteristics of IP businesses in each field and identify appropriate policy demands. A Korea Creative Content Agency official said, "Based on the discussions, we plan to prepare a draft for establishing an integrated policy roadmap for related promotion."

The advisory committee will also discuss the direction and implementation plan for the 'Content IP Expo (tentative name),' which will be held for the first time this year. The Content IP Expo is Asia's largest comprehensive IP business event, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency. It will be conducted as a B2B program centered on the related industry, including content IP exhibitions, business matching, conferences, showcases, and events.
