Seoul Gangdong Nonghyup Signs Urban-Rural Win-Win Business Agreement with Hongcheon County, Gangwon

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Seoul Gangdong Nonghyup announced that on the 29th, it signed a business agreement with Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do at the Rodeo branch to promote urban-rural mutual growth exchange.
The event was attended by Park Seong-jik, head of Gangdong Nonghyup, along with executives and employees; Heo Pil-hong, mayor of Hongcheon-gun; Gong Gun-oh, chairman of the Hongcheon County Council; heads of five agricultural and livestock cooperatives in Hongcheon including Hongcheon Nonghyup, Naechon Nonghyup, and Seoseok Nonghyup; Park Seung-young, director of the Hongcheon Agricultural Technology Center; Lee Jeong-hoon, mayor of Gangdong-gu; and Hwang Ju-young, chairman of the Gangdong District Council.
Through this business agreement, both parties agreed to carry out various cooperative projects such as △ urban-rural mutual growth cooperation and economic exchange including activation of direct transactions of local agricultural and specialty products △ establishment and operation of direct sales stores to promote local food △ discovery and promotion of projects for mutual benefit of residents and cooperative members in production and consumption areas.
According to this agreement, Gangdong Nonghyup will provide the Cheonho-dong Hanaro Mart in Gangdong-gu as a local food direct sales store, and Hongcheon-gun will be able to quickly sell fresh and high-quality agricultural products produced within the county directly at the urban direct sales store without going through separate distribution channels. In addition, not only eight agricultural and livestock cooperatives in Hongcheon-gun but also the Forestry Cooperative will participate to supply and sell regional forest products such as pine nuts together.
