On the 29th, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) held a regular briefing and announced that a pressure trough will pass over South Korea on the 30th, bringing rain nationwide.
Due to the influence of a weak southwesterly wind, raindrops will begin to fall in various parts of the country from the morning of the 30th, and starting from daytime, rain will begin in earnest beginning with Jeju Island and expand nationwide from the evening. By the 31st, most regions nationwide will receive 5 to 10mm of rain, while Jeju Island will see about 5 to 20mm.
Woo Jin-gyu, a forecast analyst at the KMA, explained, "As cold air blowing in from the pressure system mixes with warm and humid air moving southward, the pressure trough develops causing rain, and instead of high clouds, low cloud bands develop, resulting in a longer duration of precipitation."
In the early morning of the 31st, due to the influence of northeasterly and northwesterly winds, rain clouds will develop, bringing 5 to 20mm of rain mainly to the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province, and mountainous areas will see about 1 to 5cm of snow. As clouds move from the northeast to the southeast, light rain will fall in inland and eastern regions until the afternoon of the 31st.
Forecaster Woo said, "As northeasterly winds and northwesterly winds from the west blow in, the atmosphere becomes unstable causing rain clouds to form. If the northeasterly wind is strong, precipitation may increase in the Gangwon Yeongdong region, and if the northwesterly wind is strong, the amount of rain may increase mainly in inland areas."

Even if clear weather continues due to the inflow of northwesterly winds, the air will be cold, so caution is advised for health management during the changing seasons. Temperatures will gradually recover from the weekend, and warm weather will continue from the 4th.
The morning low temperature on the 1st is expected to be between -1 and 5 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures ranging from 10 to 16 degrees. On the weekend, the morning lows on the 2nd and 3rd are forecasted to be between -1 and 7 degrees, with daytime highs of 10 to 17 degrees.

Forecaster Woo said, "With the inflow of warm westerly winds, temperatures will rise starting next Monday, bringing warm weather. However, due to the spring pressure pattern of high pressure in the south and low pressure in the north, two pressure systems will face each other over South Korea, likely forming strong westerly winds, so caution is needed for strong winds along the west and east coasts."
