Lee Geon-jun, President of BGF Retail, "Complete Renovation of PocketCU App... Building an Online Ecosystem"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lee Geonjun, CEO of BGF Retail, announced on the 29th that "a complete redesign of the mobile application 'Pocket CU' aimed at enhancing customer mobile shopping convenience is scheduled for next month."
At the regular shareholders' meeting held at the BGF headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Lee said, "The new Pocket CU will provide various online commerce experiences such as delivery, pickup, and parcel services, and will also enable direct communication with regular customers at individual stores."
Lee stated, "This year marks the 10th anniversary of BGF Retail's independent domestic brand CU, a milestone year," adding, "We will continuously improve CU's offline store competitiveness and establish an online ecosystem unique to CU."
He also said, "Based on decades of accumulated distribution know-how and core competencies, we have solidified our foundation for growth as a global distribution channel by successfully entering Malaysia following Mongolia," and added, "We will maintain the growth momentum in Mongolia and Malaysia, actively expand into new countries, and continuously broaden our global business areas including global IT and product exports."

BGF Retail appointed lawyer Lim Youngcheol from Sejong, lawyer Han Myungkwan from Barun, and Dean Choi Jawon from Hanyang University as outside directors. Professor Baek Bokhyun from Seoul National University and lawyer Han were appointed as audit committee members, and an agenda to add health supplement retail business to the shareholders' meeting business objectives was also approved.
