[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Homeplus announced on the 29th that the number of customers who purchased eco-friendly products has surpassed 2,400 as the Zero Market's first store marks its 100th day since opening on the 30th.
Zero Market is an eco-friendly store where customers can purchase refillable products such as detergent, shampoo, and cosmetics by weighing only the amount they need. Customers can fill products into designated containers provided in the store or their own reusable containers. Various eco-friendly products such as bamboo toothbrushes, natural loofahs, reusable straws, kitchen soap, shampoo bars, and handkerchiefs are also sold. Currently, a total of four Zero Markets are operating at World Cup Branch, Hapjeong Branch, Sindorim Branch, and Namhyeon Branch.
According to Homeplus, sales of refill detergent items increased by 205% and soap items by 27% over the past three months. More than 70% of customers were women, with significant interest from single-person households in their 20s and 30s, newlyweds, and women in their 50s and 60s. Regular customers who visit more than 1.5 times per month accounted for about 10% per store.
