Provincial Assembly Member Kim Taegyun Elected Chairman of Gwangyang Economic Agency Association
Resolution of the Cooperative Meeting: Election of Chairperson, Appointment of Settlement Inspection Committee Members, and Approval of Regulation Amendments
[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak) announced on the 28th at the 127th General Assembly extraordinary meeting that Kim Tae-gyun, a former Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member from Gwangyang, was elected as the chairman of the 11th General Assembly of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority.
Chairman Kim Tae-gyun previously served as the chairman of the Economic, Tourism and Culture Committee in the first half of the 11th Jeollanam-do Provincial Assembly, and is currently actively engaged in legislative activities and proactive resolution of local livelihood issues as the chairman of the Special Committee for Regional Economic Revitalization to Overcome COVID-19.
Newly appointed Chairman Kim Tae-gyun stated, “The General Assembly of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone will strive together to meet the expectations of local residents who wish for the development of the Gwangyang Bay Area and to become a more advanced General Assembly.”
At the meeting, the appointment of the 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members and partial amendments to the regulations of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority General Assembly were reviewed and approved.
For the settlement inspection committee, Lee Kwang-il, a Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member from Yeosu, was appointed as the representative member, with former Administrative Planning Director Kang Dae-seon and accountant Noh Dong-jin appointed as members.
The appointed settlement inspection committee members will conduct a three-day inspection in April on the soundness and efficiency of the overall financial execution of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority for the 2021 fiscal year, including revenue and expenditure settlements, bond and debt settlements, and financial statements.
The results of the settlement inspection will be reviewed and approved at the 128th General Assembly meeting on June 9.
Additionally, in accordance with the organizational restructuring carried out on January 1 this year and the full revision of the ‘Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority Administrative Organization Establishment Regulations General Assembly,’ 28 regulations requiring updates such as department names and position titles, including the ‘Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority Acting Duties Regulations’ and the ‘Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority Office Handover Regulations,’ were collectively amended.
