Actor Will Smith slapped fellow actor Chris Rock and swore at the Academy Awards, and the incident was broadcast live. It was a happening that occurred after Rock insulted Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
On the 27th (local time), Rock took the stage as the presenter for the Best Documentary Feature award at the 94th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, USA. Just before presenting the award, he joked about Pinkett Smith's shaved head, expressing anticipation for a sequel to "G.I. Jane." In "G.I. Smith, watching from the audience, could not contain his anger and rushed onto the stage. He then strongly slapped Rock's cheek, came down, and shouted, "Don't talk about my wife," along with swearing. Most of the audience, mistaking it for a staged act, applauded and cheered but soon showed their embarrassment. Rock then tried to calm the atmosphere by saying, "It was just a joke based on 'G.I.
