Preventing Basic Academic Underachievement... Busan Office of Education Supports 132 'Dakkaechim Supporters' for Lower Grades in Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will provide 132 'Dakkaechim Supporter' learning assistants to 132 first and second grade elementary school classes from the 28th until June 3.
The support for assistants is being promoted to prevent basic academic underachievement among first and second grade elementary school students.
'Dakkaechim Supporter' aims to improve basic literacy and numeracy skills in first and second grade elementary students and to prevent early basic academic underachievement concerns arising from the COVID-19 situation.
Composed of students from Busan National University of Education, the Dakkaechim Supporters assist homeroom teachers during 60 hours of regular classes, two to three times a week, helping students adapt to school life and supporting their learning.
To ensure the effective operation of the Dakkaechim Supporters, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted an online training session on the 23rd to strengthen the instructional support capabilities of the 132 Dakkaechim Supporters.
