Determined to Realize Local Decentralization... Busan City Holds 'National Resolution Rally' at BEXCO
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will hold the 'National Resolution Rally for the Realization of Local Autonomy' at BEXCO Convention Hall on the 29th.
The event is hosted by the National Local Autonomy Council and jointly organized by the Busan Local Autonomy Council and Busan City.
About 300 people, including Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, Shin Sang-hae, Chairman of the Busan City Council, Song Ha-jin, Governor of Jeonbuk Province and Chairman of the Korea Association of Governors, chairpersons of local autonomy councils from various regions nationwide, and citizens, are expected to attend the resolution rally.
The rally is held with the support of the Presidential Committee on Autonomy and Decentralization, the Korea Association of Governors, the Korea Association of Chairpersons of Provincial Councils, the Korea Association of Mayors, Governors and District Heads, and the Korea Association of Chairpersons of City, County and District Councils.
At the resolution rally, a video featuring various voices from the field about the 'current state of local autonomy' will be screened. Bae Jun-gu, a member of the Busan Local Autonomy Council, will also propose the '7 Major National Tasks for Local Autonomy Promotion by the Next Government' for balanced development and strong local autonomy reform.
Afterwards, the core agendas for realizing local autonomy, including ▲promotion of local autonomy constitutional amendment ▲strengthening of autonomous legislation, organization, and financial authority ▲guarantee of residents' self-governance rights, will be read aloud, followed by a local autonomy realization performance involving all attendees.
The National Local Autonomy Council will unite in support of the 2030 Busan World Expo bid, which will serve as a powerful catalyst for local autonomy and national balanced development, by issuing a special statement and declaring continuous solidarity.
