Gyeonggi-do Offers Up to 15,000 KRW Refund for Using Cultural Facilities on Culture Day
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will start the 'Culture Day, Local Currency Dream' project on the 28th, which refunds part of the usage fees at 34 cultural facilities in the province, such as museums and performance halls, in local currency.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that to create an equal cultural environment and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for residents, it will designate and operate ▲ the week including the last Wednesday of every month ▲ the week of Children's Day ▲ the week of Chuseok as Gyeonggi Culture Days in connection with the government's 'Culture Day.' This year, there are a total of 87 Gyeonggi Culture Days.
The Culture Day, Local Currency Dream project refunds part of the usage fees in local currency to residents who use cultural facilities on Culture Days.
The refund amounts are 5,000 KRW for payments of 10,000 KRW or more, 10,000 KRW for 30,000 KRW or more, and 15,000 KRW for 50,000 KRW or more.
Refunds can be made through recharging the local currency card the user holds or by issuing a new card on-site.
The refunded local currency must be used within three months. Since the refund is given in the local currency of the city or county where the cultural facility is located, it is expected to have a revitalizing effect on the local neighborhood economy.
The eligible cultural facilities include 34 locations such as Yangpyeong Gu House Museum, Goyang Latin America Culture Center Affiliated Museum, and Hwaseong Banseok Art Hall. The list of participating cultural facilities can be checked on the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation website (https://www.ggcf.kr/archives/154815).
