"Because it's under 30,000 won..." President Moon certified the picture book by Lee Suji received as a return gift
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in recently revealed on the 26th that he received two picture books as a gift from author Lee Su-ji, who was awarded the Andersen Prize, often called the 'Nobel Prize of children's literature.'
On that day, President Moon stated on his SNS, "I sent a congratulatory message for Lee's Andersen Prize win, and Lee sent two of her picture books as a thank-you gift."
When sending the picture books, Lee commented, "It's under 30,000 won, so it should be okay," which appears to be a remark mindful of the 'Improper Solicitation and Graft Act' that prohibits public officials from receiving meals under 30,000 won or gifts under 50,000 won.
