Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Secures 6 Billion KRW Incentive from Ministry of Education
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has secured 6 billion won in incentives over two years from the Ministry of Education to revitalize the local economy and ensure the efficiency of local education finances.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 24th, the Ministry of Education has newly established an item to measure the effort of education offices in budget execution when calculating grants for efficient financial management, and has applied incentive grants based on the results starting from this year's grant calculation.
Despite difficulties in financial execution due to the impact of COVID-19 last year, the Provincial Office of Education formed a 'Local Education Finance Execution Inspection Team' led by the Deputy Superintendent and actively managed the budget by checking execution status once a week, securing 1 billion won by achieving the target in the first half of the year.
Additionally, through mid-term financial execution inspections, time-series trend analysis, fund utilization, and strategic resource allocation by promoting the '2021 Headquarters Project Reorganization,' they achieved the target ratio for the net surplus budget formation last year and secured an additional 1 billion won.
Recently, they also achieved the target for school accounting financial execution conducted until the end of February this year, receiving 4 billion won as the '2023 General Grant.'
The Provincial Office of Education analyzed this achievement as a result of actively promoting the formation and operation of the inspection team and working support team, guidance on flexible execution plans, early identification of unexecutable projects, and project reorganization.
