Jeonnam Province Honored as 'Best Agency Nationwide' for Integrated Defense Posture

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has been honored as the nation's top institution for integrated defense readiness, recognized for its efficient operation of national defense elements and achievements in establishing an integrated defense system for wartime and peacetime.
The province announced on the 24th that it received the Presidential Institutional Award for Meritorious Service in Establishing Integrated Defense Readiness at the 55th Central Integrated Defense Meeting presided over by the Prime Minister, held recently via a non-face-to-face video conference.
On the day, at the provincial government VIP room, Major General Choi Soon-geon, commander of the 31st Infantry Division of the Army responsible for local defense of Gwangju and Jeonnam, presented the award certificate to the province.
Along with this, a plaque of appreciation prepared by General Kim Jung-soo, commander of the 2nd Army Operations Command, was also presented to Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Provincial Council for their significant support in reserve forces development and integrated defense readiness.
The province awarded a plaque of appreciation to Major General Choi Soon-geon of the 31st Division, expressing gratitude for his active cooperation and assistance in protecting the lives and safety of the residents.
The 31st Division has made great contributions to creating a safe Jeonnam by dedicating itself to local defense and actively participating in COVID-19 quarantine activities and disaster recovery efforts.
