New Chairman of Steel Pipe Council at Steel Association: Eom Jeong-geun, CEO of HiSteel
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Steel Association's Pipe Council announced on the 24th that it held the '2022 Board of Directors Meeting and General Assembly' and appointed Eom Jeong-geun, CEO of HiSteel, as the 14th chairman.
CEO Eom emphasized, "We will actively communicate with related industries and promote various activities to resolve industry difficulties and develop the domestic pipe industry."
This year, the Pipe Council plans to focus on projects aimed at securing future competitiveness of the pipe industry by responding to carbon neutrality and discovering new demand in the eco-friendly energy industry. In particular, it plans to prioritize evaluating carbon emissions throughout the entire pipe process, launching a specialized committee for pipes used in the hydrogen industry, and conducting market research on CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage).
CEO Eom has experience serving as the 7th chairman of the Pipe Council.

Established in March 2005, the Pipe Council includes 17 major domestic pipe companies such as HiSteel, SeAH Steel, and Hyundai Steel as member companies.
