Dr. Now Surpasses 3 Million Cumulative Users... Expansion of User Age and Region
Proportion of Users Aged 40 and Above Doubled Year-on-Year
Non-Capital Region Usage Increased Ninefold
Nationwide Telemedicine and Medicine Delivery System Established
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The cumulative number of users of the remote medical platform DoctorNow has surpassed 3 million. The user age range is expanding, and the number of uses outside the metropolitan area has increased significantly.
DoctorNow announced on the 24th that since the service started in December 2020 until the 20th of this month, the cumulative number of users exceeded 3 million. The weekly active users (WAU) this month have surpassed 1 million.
In the early stages of the service, usage was dominated by the trend-sensitive 2030 generation, but recently, usage among those aged 40 and above has increased, accounting for 30% of all users, indicating an expansion of the user age range. The youngest patient among users was 0 years old, and the oldest patient was 101 years old. This is attributed to the simple user interface (UI) where everything from symptom selection to medicine delivery requests is done within the app, along with 2030 generation users utilizing DoctorNow’s ‘family proxy registration’ feature for non-face-to-face medical care for their families.
Regionally, the use of non-face-to-face medical care has increased evenly. The number of uses outside the metropolitan area increased more than ninefold compared to the previous year's average. DoctorNow operates 19 medical departments including otolaryngology, pediatrics, internal medicine, and dermatology at over 700 affiliated medical institutions nationwide, allowing patients to receive medical care regardless of their residence or time. Prescription drug delivery is also available on the same day in Seoul and the metropolitan area, as well as six metropolitan cities (excluding some areas), and a nationwide courier system is in place.
