CU Hosts Live Broadcast 'CU On Air' for Franchise Owners Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CU announced on the 24th that it will hold a live broadcast called ‘CU On Air’ to guide the 2022 spring-summer product trends and operational points for nationwide franchise stores in preparation for the upcoming spring.
CU holds a session twice a year in accordance with seasonal changes to share new product trends and marketing strategies with franchise owners nationwide and to provide guidance on store operation directions.
This year’s ‘CU On Air’ is a non-face-to-face product strategy briefing planned in response to the COVID-19 situation, allowing any CU franchise owner nationwide to easily access it via YouTube.
CU selected about 30 representative model stores nationwide to renew the stores according to the new product operation strategy for 2022 and to build live broadcast studio facilities to show vivid scenes from the field.
The live broadcast content is mainly composed of ▲strategy categories and product introductions ▲spring-summer display changes ▲win-win support systems. For each topic, BGF Retail’s MDs and staff will appear directly to provide in-depth explanations.
This year’s CU spring-summer strategic categories are ▲ready meals ▲health-related products ▲alcohol and side dishes.
In the ready meal category, CU plans to launch semi-prepared products in collaboration with famous dining brands and local restaurants. In the health-related product category, various health-related food and beverages that were previously difficult to find in convenience stores, such as zero alcohol, zero sugar, high-protein drinks and foods, vegetarian foods, and halal food, will be introduced.
The alcohol category, which has shown rapid growth since COVID-19, has been selected as a key category again this year. Targeting customers’ diversified tastes with craft beer, wine, whiskey, and more, CU is preparing unique domestic and international products available only at CU, along with a variety of side dishes that pair well with them.
The largest-ever 2022 win-win plan will also be detailed once again during ‘CU On Air’.
CU planned this year’s live broadcast-style franchise communication event to listen to vivid voices from the field through interactive live broadcasts, as face-to-face meetings with franchise owners have been difficult for a long time due to COVID-19.
