‘Welfare Service’ Delivery Has Arrived! … Gijang-gun Establishes Basic Plan for Visiting Health and Welfare Services
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City’s Gijang-gun has established and is actively implementing the ‘2022 Visiting Health and Welfare Service Basic Plan.’
The plan is being promoted to expand and strengthen field-centered welfare services closely related to residents' daily lives.
The ‘2022 Visiting Health and Welfare Service Basic Plan’ is a plan to provide integrated services covering welfare, health, and employment sectors tailored to the circumstances of Gijang-gun.
The main contents include ▲ operation of comprehensive counseling desks in eup and myeon (town and township) ▲ projects for discovering at-risk households and activating public-private cooperation involving local residents and various private organizations ▲ resident-led village welfare projects.
Under the vision of ‘TheTheThe(+) Gijang Welfare,’ with the slogans ‘Adding to Residents’ Welfare,’ ‘Adding to Residents’ Participation,’ and ‘Adding to Residents’ Happiness,’ three sectors, seven tasks, and over 100 detailed projects have been finalized, with a planned budget of 680 million KRW.
The main projects in the three sectors are ▲ expanding the functions of eup and myeon public service platforms ▲ regionalization of public service linkage and cooperation ▲ support projects to strengthen resident capabilities.
A county official stated, “We aim to eliminate welfare blind spots and provide customized services reflecting the diverse welfare needs of residents,” adding, “We will do our best to enhance welfare awareness and resident satisfaction by strengthening resident participation and public-private cooperation.”

In February, Gijang-gun was selected for the ‘Public Service Linkage Strengthening Project in Residents’ Living Sites’ contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 25 million KRW in national funding.
