GE Healthcare Korea Provides AWS-Based Healthcare Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] GE Healthcare Korea announced on the 23rd that it will collaborate with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide cloud-based digital healthcare solutions and platforms aimed at improving medical care.
GE Healthcare Korea plans to operate GE Healthcare's electrocardiogram (ECG) data integration management system, the MUSE solution, on the AWS cloud to enable its use in clinical ECG research at domestic medical institutions. AWS will support evaluation and execution for migration.
The MUSE solution supports AI-based clinical evaluation research for critical and emergency patient care and plans to use AWS's machine learning capabilities to enhance hospital workflow and efficiency. Additionally, GE Healthcare's Edison Digital Health Platform will be operated on the AWS cloud and provided to hospitals nationwide in Korea.
The cloud-based medical platform offers the advantage of allowing medical staff to quickly and securely access medical data anytime and anywhere, thereby supporting improvements in patient diagnosis and treatment outcomes. It also facilitates access to data necessary for clinical research and creates an environment for easy collaboration. The role of cloud technology in the Korean medical field is expected to steadily increase across various sectors. In particular, as securing standardized data related to research and development (R&D) using patient biometric signals such as heart rate is crucial, MUSE is expected to contribute to the advancement of clinical research.
Kim Eun-mi, CEO of GE Healthcare Korea, stated, “As the adoption of advanced cloud technologies such as machine learning increases in the healthcare industry, we aim to help medical professionals achieve better results in clinical research and support the improvement of hospital operational efficiency. We will focus on realizing precision medicine by providing more efficient and customized digital healthcare solutions.”
