Hyundai Motor Company Launches 'Safe Driving Campaign for Children's School Vehicles'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hyundai Motor Company is taking steps to prevent safety accidents on children's school commute routes.
On the 22nd, Hyundai Motor announced that it will newly launch the "Children's School Vehicle Safe Driving Campaign" as part of its global Creating Shared Value (CSV) project for sustainable management, "Hyundai Continue."
This campaign aligns with the mandatory installation policy of electronic driving recorders (DTG) for children's school vehicles implemented this year. Hyundai will support 1,000 children's institutions in Seoul with commercial integrated terminals equipped with the DTG function developed in-house, in collaboration with the Citizens' Coalition for Safety (Anshillyeon).
DTG is a device that automatically records vehicle operation information such as speed, braking, and traffic accident situations. The collected driving data can be analyzed to help improve drivers' driving habits. Since signing a business agreement with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority in January last year to jointly develop next-generation DTG, Hyundai completed product commercialization this month.
Through the commercial integrated terminals, Hyundai collects driving data related to safe driving such as ▲rapid acceleration ▲rapid deceleration ▲sudden stops. In cooperation with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, data analysis reports will be provided to children's institutions. Additionally, by the end of the year, various reward events will be held, including providing traffic safety educational materials to children's institutions with excellent safe driving records.
Children's institutions located in Seoul wishing to participate in the campaign can apply on the Kids Hyundai and Anshillyeon websites from today until July 22. The commercial integrated terminals will be sequentially supported for the first 1,000 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Detailed information is available on the websites.
A Hyundai Motor official stated, "Since 2016, we have been contributing to reducing children's school commute accidents by supporting the installation of safety convenience features and donating vehicles for children's school vehicles. Starting with this campaign, we will continue to actively utilize mobility technology and capabilities to contribute to solving social issues and carry out various CSV activities that resonate with local communities and future generations."
