[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea (Chairman Song Jae-ho) has decided to form the ‘Democratic Party of Korea Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Chapter Local Election Planning Team’ to secure victory in the local elections to be held on June 1.
According to the Jeju Chapter on the 21st, the Local Election Planning Team will take the lead in securing the election of the Democratic Party’s candidates for Jeju Governor and Jeju Provincial Council metropolitan members by actively listening to and reflecting the diverse issues of Jeju residents in the June 1 local elections.
Once the Local Election Planning Team is formed, it will be responsible for ensuring a fair primary among gubernatorial candidates, laying the groundwork for a one-team approach to win the local elections, managing a fair primary for metropolitan council candidates through the formation of the Jeju Chapter Election Management Committee, and overseeing unified election campaigns for the gubernatorial and metropolitan council candidates, as well as internal organizational management.
Song Jae-ho, Chairman of the Jeju Chapter, said, “We have decided to form the Local Election Planning Team to prepare for the local elections, which will be held immediately after the presidential election, so that the Democratic Party can surely win by fulfilling the wishes of Jeju residents. We will do our best to ensure a fair primary process and, beyond a one-team approach among our party’s candidates after the primary, become one team with the residents to achieve victory.”
Meanwhile, the Local Election Planning Team will soon be formed by recruiting external personnel to ensure a fair and unified victory in the local elections of the Democratic Party, and will begin activities such as forming the ‘Resident Integration One-Team Committee’ through discussions with prospective Jeju gubernatorial candidates.
