Electric Kickboards Welcoming Spring... March Users Up 73.6% Compared to Previous Month
T Map Mobility 'T Map Kickboard' Weekly Average Basis
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] With the rise in outdoor temperatures during spring and the effect of promotional events, the number of TMAP electric scooter users has also increased.
According to TMAP Mobility on the 21st, the number of members who used TMAP scooters for the first time in March increased by 73.6% compared to the same period last month on a weekly average basis, and new members increased by 34.7%. The total number of rides also increased by 15% compared to the previous month.
This is interpreted as a result of the recent warmer weather combined with the effect of TMAP events. TMAP Mobility has been running an event since March 1st that allows users who may be unfamiliar with the TMAP scooter service to try it easily by offering the first ride free of charge up to 3,000 KRW.
TMAP is holding an event in April where users can ride electric scooters at a 50% discount on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th rides. In May, they plan to partner with another shared scooter company, ‘Dart,’ to provide the largest integrated scooter service in Korea, including three scooter brands (Ssingssing, Gicooter, and Dart). They will strengthen guidance related to user scooter parking policies and improve user experience (UX) to make payment methods and license registration easier.
