[Click eStock] "Truewin, Direct Beneficiary of Next Government's Defense Policy"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] Hana Financial Investment forecasted on the 21st that Truewin is expected to achieve significant performance growth this year and directly benefit from the next government's defense policy.
Choi Jae-ho, a researcher at Hana Financial Investment, explained, "This year, we expect sales of at least 25 billion KRW in the new sensor sector alone," adding, "Since unmanned technology has become a core trend and demand for smart sensors has increased across the board, we anticipate sales growth of sensors specialized in unmanned and automated detection."
Truewin, established in 2006, is a company that develops and supplies global-level sensors used in various advanced industries such as automotive, civilian, and defense sectors, based on printed electronics technology, electromagnetic application technology, and thermal infrared technology.
With the rapid growth expected in the future car market, Truewin has succeeded in domestic production of automotive sensors that were previously fully imported and is growing based on this achievement. Sensors are next-generation core components applied across all industries due to industrial automation and advancement. Truewin holds world-first new technologies for EPS (Embedded Passive Sensor) sensors that detect the presence or absence of objects and measure various position information, IPS (Inductive Pressure Sensor) sensors that measure pressure, and IR (Infra Red) sensors that measure thermal generation information.
In September 2021, Truewin established a joint venture, Hanwha Intelligence, with Hanwha Systems for the development of thermal imaging IR sensors and joint research on night vision for autonomous vehicles. IR sensors are essential core technologies used in defense projects such as heat-seeking missiles and night vision devices.
Researcher Choi said, "Attention should be paid to the next government's defense policy, which emphasizes strengthening missile defense systems and AI-based unmanned robot combat systems where IR sensors are increasingly applied," adding, "Moreover, IR sensors are expanding their application fields to disaster safety monitoring, smart homes, gesture monitoring, and disease diagnosis, and as autonomous driving advances, IR sensors are replacing radar and LiDAR sensors, making them likely to become core components in the future car market."
