[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] KT IS, a customer service specialist company under the KT Group, announced on the 20th that it will acquire KT's elevator advertising service 'Town Board TV' and officially enter the digital advertising market as part of its business diversification for sustainable growth.
KT IS decided to acquire the 'Town Board TV' business to establish a foundation for sustainable growth through the acceleration of digital business growth and the development of new businesses. Until now, KT has directly operated the 'Town Board TV' business, but KT explained that KT IS, having already possessed advertising service capabilities and on-site distribution network infrastructure through operating the priority number guidance business, has been preparing the business transfer with KT, expecting to create greater synergy in the 'Town Board TV' business.
With the decision of this business transfer, KT IS will be able to operate a highly growth-oriented digital advertising business, thereby establishing a more solid business structure. Furthermore, it is expected to contribute not only to full-scale business expansion but also to the qualitative growth of the company.
Town Board TV is an elevator advertising service that provides advertisements and various informational content through monitors installed inside elevators. Despite the overall downturn in the advertising industry due to factors such as COVID-19, it is a representative digital video advertising medium showing rapid growth. In particular, it is recognized as an essential communication medium facilitating communication within complexes, especially in newly built apartments, and its recognition has notably increased, leading to a continuous rise in installation demand.

KT IS plans to actively expand its existing focus on apartments by increasing the number of monitors currently operated at around 10,000 units to over 30,000 units in a short period and aims to grow sales of approximately 10 billion KRW by more than 300%.
