Gurye-gun Launches Full-Scale Hwaeom 4-Color Blue Tour Project
Expectations for Revitalizing Hwaeom Area through Unique Projects such as Establishing an Eco-Friendly Circular Transportation System
Anticipated Carbon Neutrality Achievement, Enhanced Public Convenience, and Regional Growth
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeonnam Gurye-gun announced on the 18th that it will actively promote the Hwaeom 4-Color Blue Tour Project, which it is prioritizing.
The Hwaeom 4-Color Blue Tour Project was selected as a Jeonnam-type regional growth strategy project in 2020.
The county plans to invest a total of 10.8 billion KRW to establish an eco-friendly circular transportation system connecting Hwaeomsa Temple and Hwaeom Shopping Street, and to renovate the anion path leading to Hwaeomsa Temple.
Additionally, it plans to revitalize the Hwaeom area by creating a garden culture street and a complex cultural space.
Currently, the facility project is in the final stages of detailed design and obtaining permits.
For the software project, the regional capacity-building project, a service provider has been selected and is focusing on building consensus for successful project implementation by holding business briefings for related organizations and merchant associations.
The Hwaeom 4-Color Blue Tour Project aims to enhance the diverse charms of Hwaeomsa Temple to attract more tourists, while encouraging them to stay at shops and tourist facilities located in the Hwaeom area, consume local products, and contribute to the local economy.
To this end, it plans to actively realize carbon neutrality by establishing an eco-friendly transportation system including electric buses and electric trains.
It also plans to develop specialized experience programs unique to the Hwaeom area by linking with the Jirisan History and Culture Center and the Jirisan Asiatic Black Bear Habitat.
A county official said, “The participation and cooperation of the Korea National Park Service, Hwaeomsa Temple, and local shops are very important,” adding, “We will strive to realize carbon neutrality, improve convenience for the public, and serve as a foundation for regional growth.”
Meanwhile, Jirisan Hwaeomsa Temple is famous as a thousand-year-old temple housing many cultural assets.
The Hwaeomsa Forest Trail, which connects Hwaeomsa Temple to Yeongi-am Hermitage, is rich in phytoncides and anions, making it well known as a healing forest trail.
Every year, 400,000 tourists visit Hwaeomsa Temple, attracted by the charming red plum blossoms that bloom early in spring and the high-quality Hwaeom Music Festival held in autumn.
