Gochang-gun Conducts 'Agricultural Work Accident Prevention and Safety Health Education'

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun announced on the 18th that it conducted a ‘Workplace Accident Prevention and Safety Health Education’ on the 16th at the Gochang-eup Agricultural Counseling Center for farmers who are busy preparing for farming.

This education invited Director Park Jiyo (Happy Management Research Institute) as an instructor and provided training on stretching to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, prevention of tick-borne infectious diseases, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and demonstrations on the use of personal protective equipment.

The farmers who participated in the training showed high satisfaction with the demonstration on how to use and wear the security face shield for brush cutters.

The Workplace Accident Prevention and Safety Health Education was prepared to raise awareness of the risks of accidents that frequently occur during farming work and to prevent safety accidents.

In the first half of the year, safety education will be promoted mainly for agricultural organizations in towns and townships and crop-specific study groups, and in the second half, education will be conducted a total of 20 times targeting rural villages.

The county is carrying out projects such as ‘Crop-specific Customized Safety Management Practice,’ ‘Fostering Disaster-Safe Agricultural Villages,’ and ‘Support for Safety Improvement Equipment for Rural Women’ to create safe agriculture and rural areas.

Hyun Haengyeol, director of the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, “As the importance of farmers’ health and safety management is emerging, we will promote various safety management projects to improve the quality of life of farmers and do our best to realize safe farming activities for farmers through continuous workplace safety education.”
